Atlanta, GA
(September 10, 2007)
– Today, North
American Medical
Corporation (NAM)
proudly announced
the official launch
of its first
diagnostic imaging
device: the
Hyperion™ dual
touch-screen
ultrasound system
featuring
patent-pending
DiTouch™ technology.
The Hyperion system
debuted at the
Radiological Society
of North America (RSNA)
trade show, held in
Chicago in November
of 2006.
The hand-carried
ultrasound market is
predicting robust
growth over the next
five years and is
expected to outpace
all other ultrasound
segments.
Additionally, many
studies have shown
the efficiency of
using two monitors
in the workplace.
The Hyperion
Ultrasound combines
these needs and
contains all of the
latest technology,
such as the Intel
Core Duo™ Processor,
built-in wireless
card, one-step
transducer
connections,
superior image
quality, and two
15-inch touch-screen
displays. With
touch-screen
technology, there is
no need for a mouse
or external
keyboard. All
functions can be
performed with the
touch of a finger,
making feature
selection quick and
easy.
“Our dual
touch-screen
hand-carried
ultrasound system is
unique in the
marketplace,” said
G. Rubin, Executive
Vice President of
North American
Medical. “In
imaging, resolution
is key. The Hyperion
system features two
15-inch screens, and
the best resolution,
of any hand-carried
ultrasound system
available. Increased
resolution leads to
greater diagnostic
accuracy, which in
turn leads to better
patient outcomes.”
Other exciting
features of the
Hyperion Ultrasound
System include four
fully programmable
function buttons.
These buttons enable
the user to tailor
the system to meet
their needs and
saves time of having
to toggle through
the features. A
unique integrated
mounting system is
ideal for users who
want to attach the
system to an office
wall or countertop.
The mounting system
design, fully
compatible with most
standard electronics
mounting kits,
allows the user to
quickly secure the
device to almost any
surface.
“We’re very excited
about the release of
this system,” said
Rebecca Jackson,
North American
Medical
Corporation’s
Director of the
Imaging Division.
“The dual monitors
allow two images to
be viewed at the
same time;
therefore, the
operator can
directly compare a
previous saved image
to a live image. The
DiTouch technology,
single-step
transducer
connections, and
automatic
recognition of exam
presets on every
probe are wonderful
time-saving
features. In
medicine, saving
time can mean saving
lives.”
Several years ago,
North American
Medical Corporation,
a leading
manufacturer of
therapeutic spinal
treatment devices,
introduced its
flagship Accu-SPINA®
system. Now, NAM
brings its
world-class
innovation to the
hand-carried
ultrasound market.
