North American Medical Corporation Receives Coveted CE Mark
Atlanta, GA (July 13, 2007)Today, North American Medical Corporation officially announced its receipt of the prestigious CE mark from Underwriters Laboratories (UL). North American Medical, an ISO firm founded in 2000, manufactures medical devices used in imaging and rehabilitation. The CE mark will affix to North American Medical’s flagship product: the Accu-SPINA® system. The Accu-SPINA system uses proprietary technology to administer IDD Therapy® treatment, a non-invasive therapy for back pain.
The CE mark was first introduced by the European Commission as a way to bolster trade within the European community. Products with CE marking must conform to rigorous standards of quality and safetystandards which sometimes exceed the standards of the originating country. In order for a product to earn the CE mark, each individual component of the product must adhere to established performance standards. Obtaining the CE mark is essential for any company wishing to sell certain consumer products in the European Economic Area (EEA).
“We are tremendously proud of our team for dedicating themselves to achieving this very impressive recognition,” said Chello Grace, COO of North American Medical. “The CE mark confirms our products are held to the highest international quality and safety standards.” Jennifer Snyder, who works in North American Medical’s Quality Department, added: “Obtaining the CE mark is a great asset to the company because it gives us more versatility. Many countries outside the European Union are now recognizing CE standards and using them as the benchmark for import quality. Having the CE mark on our products opens the door wide for the company to expand international sales and marketing efforts.”
UL is recognized as a worldwide leader in testing and certification. The company also performed ISO 13485 certification for North American Medical in July 2006.
